Cinema is a story of light and darkness as much as it is a story of images. The Cinema and Television Faculty at Atatürk University in Erzurum establishes its own visual identity by making this contrast an integral part of its architectural language.

Sharp lines of light set against dark surfaces create a strong rhythm within the cinema hall, defining its dynamic spatial character. In the foyer areas, geometric forms and bold color planes continue this language on a different scale, creating a more vibrant and energetic atmosphere.

In the studios and educational spaces, the narrative shifts. Here, light goes beyond creating atmosphere and becomes an essential part of the creative process itself. While each space responds to its specific function, the project as a whole maintains a cohesive dialogue between image, light, contrast, and architecture.

In this project, architecture draws inspiration from the nature of cinema and television: at times it sets the stage, at others it quietly recedes into the background, but it always remains an integral part of the experience.
